Online Internet Consumer Rating

What is the ICR?
The consumer protection rating score is a system used by Online Internet Consumer Reports when we review products or websites. The CPR is based on a total possible score of 100.

What is the 100 Points based on?
When testing products, we assign the following values to each of our tests:

Product or Website Effectiveness (Total 75 Points) - The Product Effectiveness score is based on how the product (or website) performs in human and clinical trials in relation to the claims made by the website promoting it. The scoring is determined by the outcome of testing. For example, if a product claims to increase hair growth in men with Male Pattern Baldness, we perform human trials over a period of 1 - 6 months to determine if the product actually delivers on the claims it makes. If 20 men partook in the testing, and 88% of them received satisfactory results based on the company's claims, then the Product Effectiveness score would equal 66.0 points. (88% * 75 = 66.0) . This is a basic example and does not detail additional testing that may be done on a specific product or website. Some of our testing methods utilize complicated algorithms to determine this value.

Customer Service Email Response (Total 5 Points) - Each web based store front is email with the same set of questions, usually pertaining to how the product works, shipping method and return policy. This score is determined by how quickly the company responds to a customer email inquiry:

• Within 4 hours = 5 Points

• Within 8 hours = 4 Points

• Within 24 hours = 2 Points

• Within 48 hours = 1 Point

• Does Not Respond = 0 Points

Customer Phone Support Available (Total 10 Points)
Ten points is awarded to products or websites that have a customer service phone number and live contact representatives to speak with. Any website or product that does not have a customer service phone number is automatically given 0 points.

Delivery Time (Total 10 Points - if applicable)
For websites that deliver actual products to customers, we have assigned a value to speed of delivery. Every product listed on this website has been ordered via normal channels. If a website claims that delivery will be made in 5 - 7 days, a full 10 points is awarded if deliver is made within this time frame. If the product is delivered after 7 days (in this example) then the point value awarded is 5. If a product is deliver 7 days after the scheduled delivery indicated on the website, a score of 0 is awarded.
